Tim Cahill once said, “A journey is best measured in friends rather than miles.” So by the time you read this letter, our journey will have taken us to Ohio. After 6 long months, lots of praying, and a roller coaster ride of emotions, we have moved our family closer….to family! We are excited at this new adventure that God has allowed us to embark on. It is a rare blessing when you are given an opportunity like this to start over; begin again. We enjoyed our last year in the green mountains of Vermont, having left behind many good friends that will remain close in heart and memory.
Our firstborn, Elijah is growing into a cute, sweet toddler, full of words and thoughts. He is still trying to get the concept of potty training, being most comfortable with squishy pants. He is good at keeping Gabriel in line…..No Baby! is a common phrase we often hear. They have shared the same bedroom over the past year, and so we are privy to the chatter that goes on in the room next door. Elijah is good at making Gabriel roll with laughter. Gabriel turned 1 this year, and like any one year old is in to everything and anything. He has become a ring leader of sorts, perhaps a peek into the future of what our parenting days hold.
I am preparing my mind and heart for a new place of employment. I have enjoyed the past 5 years at the small community hospital where I have become familiar and comfortable in. I am looking ahead at a career change, interviewing this month for an ER position, something that will be new to me.
John is excited about the prospect of owning/starting his own company, buying a house and fixing it up to rent or sell. He had much practice with our house in Vermont, learning what not to do next time!
We extend a sincere thanks to those of you who have prayed and loved us through this year of decisions. We leave behind many good friends, and a wonderful church family, but look in anticipation to what lies ahead.
